Our chosen venue, Locanda Cugnanello, is a family-run country estate in the heart of Tuscany. The beautiful estate, with its own lavender field sits among vineyards and is surrounded by olive groves and rolling hills. It features an 800 year old farmhouse, that has recently been beautifully renovated and blends authentic Tuscan style with modern comforts. It’s perfectly situated for a retreat, being in a remote part of Tuscany and surrounded by stunning countryside.
The address is: Locanda Cugnanello, SNC Solaio Anqua, 53030 Radicondoli SI, Italy
The telephone number at the venue is: +39 0577 791031
Meals and Refreshments
Fresh Tuscan inspired cuisine will be enjoyed on the outdoor dining terrace. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included, along with unlimited coffee and delicious local wine with dinner. All dietary requirements can be catered for and we just ask you to let us know of any before the retreat.
What to Bring
For the daily yoga and other activities you should bring:
• loose comfortable clothing for yoga
• a pair of trainers if you would like to go walking/hiking
• fleece/ long-sleeved sports top for morning yoga
• hat (large brimmed hat or a cap)
• a suitable sun block cream
• toiletries- please note there is only hand soap in the rooms
For the evenings:
• comfortable clothing – evenings are very relaxed and casual
• a warm top/jumper as temperatures can be lower in the mornings and evenings
• mosquito and insect repellent- this is a rural destination so this may be needed during the retreat
Also don’t forget:
• swimming costume
• reading material
• euros in case you wanted to pay for taxis and explore the local area- this venue is very remote and does not have a cash machine
There are hairdryers and bath products in the rooms. As a traditional Locanda the decor and size of each room is slightly different but all equally as charming.
There is a laundry service which is not included in the price. We recommend that if you have expensive items of clothing it would be better to hand wash these in your room.
In advance of your trip, you can get a better idea of the weather by clicking here
There is mobile phone coverage at Locanda Cugnagello and wireless internet available.
There are no formal entry requirements for EU passport holders travelling to Italy intending to stay for less than 90 days. Holders of US or Canadian passports can enter Italy for up to 90 days without a visa. We would strongly advise all other passport holders to check visa requirements well in advance of your intended dates of travel.
Money and currency
All of your yoga, accommodation, meals, coffee and wine with dinner are included in the cost, and so you will only need money (Euro) for additional food and beverages, massage, local trips and private transfers.
Please ensure that you have adequate travel insurance to cover your trip. It is also essential that you provide us with the name of your insurance company and a 24 hour emergency insurance contact number.
We also recommend that you get a European Health Insurance Card which allows you to access state-provided healthcare in all European Areas (EEA) countries at a reduced cost or sometimes free of charge. Applying for the card is free (and only takes 2 minutes) and it is valid for up to 5 years. Presenting the card entitles you to any treatment that may become necessary during your holiday. This card is NOT an alternative to travel insurance, however – it is important to have both a European Health Insurance Card and a valid travel insurance policy. To apply for your free card, please click here
